This was a project to review the security policy and settings for our VMware environment and _____ them. I was assigned to manage and implement this project for the security review. I reviewed every security permission in VMware and what all did in order to get a better picture of what the least amount of privileges were needed in order to do each job. I exported the list of current permissions for each group and made a list of what permissions each group should have. To test that the permissions were working as intended and would work when pushed out to the production environment I set up a test environment that copied our production environment. I implemented the changed permissions and tested each group to confirm that they would not have any troubles doing their jobs. After all permissions were confirmed to be working, I brought the plan to our Change Management team for final review. After a meeting with them to explain the changes and the plan being approved, I implemented the changes after hours per our update schedule.
